DANCE STYLES
Classical Ballet is the foundation of many dance styles and is characterized by light, graceful, fluid movement. Ballet enhances balance and core strength, improves posture and flexibility, builds discipline and mental focus.
Jazz is a dynamic and energetic dance style characterized by syncopated rhythms, body isolation, performed to jazz music.
Modern emphasizes free and expressive movement, individuality and the exploration of new movement possibilities. While distinct from ballet, modern dance often incorporates elements of ballet and jazz.
Dance History is a component of each class and dance style. Dance history encompasses the study of dance as a cultural, social and artistic observation throughout history. The discussion of various dance forms and contributions of influential dancers and choreographers within each dance style are included in each class.
